David Moyes insists that he doesn’t think Tyler Dibling’s fee was a big one in relative terms. And he has revealed he expects Everton will try and be “busy” in the January transfer window.
Dibling has made just one Premier League start so far this term, being hooked at half-time against Crystal Palace after a lacklustre display.
And asked about the 19-year-old’s struggle to get into his side, Moyes said: “At the moment, he’s got Ili Ndiaye and Jack Grealish in front of him, so that’s probably the reason why he’s finding it difficult to break into the first team.
“We want him to up his levels, up his training.

“When I first came here, Leighton Baines, John Stones, Joleon Lescott, you could go on… they all had to sit and wait for their time and the right moments to find their way into the team, that’s the way it is.
“For Tyler at the moment, he’ll have to do that as well.”
Dibling was the Blues’ most-expensive signing of the summer, arriving from Southampton for an undisclosed fee understood to be worth £35m.
But in terms of the price tag, Moyes said: “I don’t think it’s that big a fee to be honest in football and the clubs we’re dealing with in the Premier League.”
Everton made nine signings over the summer with their manager having declared in New York on July 25, that the team needed to sign “nine or 10 players before the start of the season.”
At this stage, he’s not offering any figures for the winter window, though.
Moyes said: “I don’t know if I’ve got to that point of how many I want to put in.
“I think every window gives you an opportunity to try and improve your squad if you can do.
“We didn’t bring anybody in last January except for Charly Alcaraz on loan, so we didn’t any players brought in during January.
“I would think we’d be out there, trying to be busy – I see the pens writing there – but that doesn’t mean I’m going to be busy.
“We’re in a much better position financially with the new owners and they’ll certainly back us with a certain amount of money. So, we’ll be looking around to what could help if possible.
“It’s never ever been a brilliant window, people will tell you that.
“But we’re a side that are probably trying to build every year or every window if we can do.”
