UTEP excited to face nation’s leading rusher Cam Cook
UTEP looks to keep its bowl hopes alive when it hosts Conference USA leaders Jacksonville State in its first Sun Bowl game in a month and its first Saturday game in six weeks.
The Gamecocks have won a string of close games, some miraculous, to stay unbeaten in league play in its defense of its title. They enter with the nation’s leading rusher in Cam Cook, who averages more than 130 yards per game.
UTEP has now settled on Skyler Locklear as its quarterback, who gives the team a running dimension. Its defense has been mostly good this year but now faces a major test against Cook and one of the nation’s top rushing offenses.
