Raiola went down midway through the third quarter of the USC game on a passing play. He was sacked and fumbled the ball when a USC defender brought him to the ground from behind.
Head coach Matt Rhule said Raiola will be out for the remainder of the season. The recovery period could last around eight to 10 weeks.
Raiola will be replaced by freshman TJ Lateef. Lateef is Nebraska University’s No. 2 quarterback, as a true freshman. Lateef made his Husker debut against Akron.
Nebraska’s next game is another prime time slot against UCLA on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m.
