It’s time for an early look ahead at everything scheduled to arrive on Netflix throughout the final month of the year. Spanning holiday rom-coms, high-profile returns, international dramas, family favorites, and some of the platform’s biggest originals of the year, this is your guide to what’s new on Netflix this December in the US.
The month kicks off with a wave of licensed films and comfort-watch series, before rolling into headline releases like The Abandons, Emily in Paris season 5, and Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. We also see major holiday programming, stand-up specials, new global debuts, and the highly anticipated continuation of Stranger Things season 5 arriving right on Christmas Day. What’s Coming to Netflix on December 1st
- Anything Else (2003)– Woody Allen comedy about a young writer navigating love and life in New York. Jason Biggs and Christina Ricci headline.
- Big Mama’s House (2000) – An undercover FBI agent disguises himself as a strict grandmother to catch a criminal.
- Brightburn (2019) – A horror twist on the superhero origin story where a boy uses his powers for evil.
- CoComelon Lane (Season 6) Netflix Original – Kids animated series.
- Cheaper By The Dozen (2003) – Shawn Levy directs this first ecomedy starring Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt. Parents juggle careers and chaos, raising twelve children.
- Cheaper By The Dozen 2 (2005) – The sequel starring Steve Martin, Bonnie Hunt, and Eugene Levy. Two oversized families clash on a summer lake vacation.
- Grantchester (Multiple Seasons) – The PBS/ITV detective drama series following an Anglican vicar helping a local inspector solve crimes.
- Holiday in Santa Fe (2021) – Holiday romance blossoms at a family-run Latino Christmas décor shop. Starring Mario Lopez and Emeraude Toubia
- Joy for Christmas (2021) – Directed by Pat Mills and starring Cindy Busby and Sam Page, a woman teams up with a celebrity athlete to save her family charity.
- Love is Blind: Italy (Season 1) Netflix Original – New international spin-off to the reality dating show.
- Money Monster (2016) – Directed by Jodie Foster and starring George Clooney, Julia Roberts, and Jack O’Connell, centers on a TV finance host taken hostage live on air by a desperate investor, forcing the truth behind a stock scandal into the open.
- Overcomer (2019) -Starring Alex Kendrick and Aryn Wright-Thompson, this faith story follows a high school coach and a struggling teen runner who both search for identity and purpose amid personal setbacks and changing circumstances.
- Paul, Apostle of Christ (2018) – Directed by Andrew Hyatt and starring James Faulkner and Jim Caviezel, follows Paul during his final days in a Roman prison as he reflects on his past and supports the early Christian community enduring persecution.

- Playing Gracie Darling (Season 1) Netflix Original – Australian mystery crime series. Decades after her childhood best friend vanished at a séance gone wrong, a psychologist must face her haunted past when another young girl goes missing.
- Rio (2011) – A domesticated macaw travels to Brazil and rediscovers his wild side. Jesse Eisenberg and Anne Hathaway voice.
- Rio 2 (2014) – The family heads to the Amazon and discovers a hidden macaw community.

- Victoria (Multiple Seasons) – Jenna Coleman is amongst a big ensemble cast for this period drama series from Britain, drawing on the life of Queen Victoria.
- War Room (2015) – A faith-driven drama about a struggling couple whose lives begin to change when they learn to rely on prayer and spiritual discipline. Alex Kendrick directs with Priscilla Shirer, T.C. Stallings, and Karen Abercrombie starring.

- Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches (Season 2) – The newest season of AMC’s series set in the Anne Rice franchise. Starring Alexandra Daddario.
- Matt Rife: Unwrapped — A Christmas Crowd Work Special (2025) Netflix Original – Stand-up comedy special.
What’s Coming to Netflix on December 3rd
- My Secret Santa (2025) Netflix Original – Featuring Virgin River’s Alexandra Breckenridge and Ryan Eggold, this holiday rom-com sees a single mom disguised as Santa Claus.
- The Northman (2022) – Alexander Skarsgård headlines this action-packed period piece from director Robert Eggers, about a Viking warrior who is on a quest for vengeance against his murdering uncle.

- I Wish You Had Told Me (2025) Netflix Original – Filipino LGBTQ+ drama film about a young missionary uncovering his late father’s secret traveling to Spain in search of his dad’s forbidden love.
- Lali: Time to Step Up (2025) Netflix Original – Argentinian music documentary on the pop star.

- The Abandons (Season 1) Netflix Original – New Western drama from Kurt Sutter. Washington Territory, 1854: Two families, one born of privilege and the other made of orphans and outcasts, become entangled by crime, a buried secret, forbidden love, and a piece of silver-rich land, mirroring the larger clash between the powerful and the powerless on a frontier beyond the reach of justice.

- Love and Wine (2025) Netflix Original – South African rom-com about a wine farm heir trades lives with his childhood friend.

- Owning Manhattan (Season 2) Netflix Original – Property reality series.
- Sicilia Express (Season 1) Netflix Original – Christmas family comedy series from Italy. About two friends working in Milan discovering a dumpster that allows them to teleport back to their families.
- The New Yorker at 100 (2025) Netflix Original – Marshall Curry directs this feature documentary looking back at the work and impact of the famous magazine known for its journalism and fiction.
- The Night My Dad Saved Christmas 2 (2025) Netflix Original – Spanish comedy film sequel that sees a father-son duo rescuing Santa after he was kidnapped by the CEO of a toy company.
- The Price of Confession (Season 1) Netflix Original – Korean drama series about a woman offered a way out of prison by a mysterious stranger who issues an impossible ultimatum.

- Cast Away (2000) – Directed by Robert Zemeckis and stars Tom Hanks and Helen Hunt. A FedEx executive becomes stranded on a remote island and must learn to survive physically and emotionally.

- Had I Not Seen the Sun (Part 2) Netflix Original – The second part of the Mandarin language romantic thriller.
- Lost in the Spotlight (2025) Netflix Original – Indonesian comedy drama about a famous actor who loses his ability to act just as he secures a major gig.

- Man vs. Baby (Season 1) Netflix Original – Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean for many) will return to face off against a new nemesis, a young baby.
- The Fakenapping (2025) Netflix Original – Saudi comedy.
What’s Coming to Netflix on December 12th
- City of Shadows (Season 1) Netflix Original – A six-episode police thriller from Spain starring Isak Férriz and Verónica Echegui as investigators tracking a brutal murder discovered at Gaudí’s La Pedrera, with the series directed by Jorge Torregrossa.
- Home for Christmas (Season 3) Netflix Original – Norwegian romantic comedy set around the holiday season.
- Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery (2025) Netflix Original – The third Knives Out movie with both Daniel Craig and Rian Johnson returning with a new ensemble cast and a new deadly murder mystery.

- Emily in Paris (Season 5) Netflix Original – Emily is not only in Paris, but also in Rome, in the latest season of the comedy-drama.
- 10Dance (2025) Netflix Original – Japanese drama film. Two dancers, opposites in all but their art, agree to train together for a competition. At first, they clash, but soon become drawn to each other.

- The Great Flood (2025) Netflix Original – Korean sci-fi film starring Kim Da-mi and Park Hae-soo.

- Goodbye June (2025) Netflix Original – New drama directed and starring Kate Winslet.
