Exclusion of comedians from state arts funding is no laughing matter, Dáil told

The Dáil looked on the lighter side as politicians from all sides supported a Sinn Féin private members Bill to allow comedians to be classed as members of the arts community.
Comedians are not defined as arts performers, meaning they cannot access supports, whether individuals bursaries or access to the basic artist income scheme.
