And after four months on Tyneside, Ramsdale has decided he wants to sign permanently, says ChronicleLive.
Ramsdale has managed just two appearances – both in the Carabao Cup – with England teammate Nick Pope regarded ahead of him. But he is still keen to stay long-term.
Newcastle have paid a loan fee of £4m, with Saints expected to demand £20m to sell Ramsdale outright. There is no permanent option in the deal, but Saints are prepared to sell for the right price.
