This is a pick ’em game. The point spread illustrates that. The Texans have to start winning some games or else there really will be a problem in H-Town.
Jon Hoefling: Houston Texans (-1)
Both teams are coming off very close losses that probably both should have been wins. That makes this one a very difficult game to pick. I’ll choose the team that just held Denver to 18 points.
Jordan Mendoza: Houston Texans (-1)
It’s become clear the Texans will only go as far as their offense can, especially if C.J. Stroud is able to play. It should be a little bit more productive against a unit that had some difficulty against the Raiders.
Blake Schuster: Jacksonville Jaguars (+1)
There is nothing about this Texans team that makes me comfortable at this point. Meanwhile, Jacksonville adding Jakobi Meyers is an intriguing wrinkle on offense.
Lorenzo Reyes: Jacksonville Jaguars (+1)
With C.J. Stroud in concussion protocol early in the week, I’d monitor this until later if you’re considering Houston. Still, with that uncertainty, I’ll back the Jags here. The move, frankly, might be the under, even though it’s as low as 38.5, as of this writing.
Christopher Bumbaca: Jacksonville Jaguars (+1)
One of the toughest games of the week to pick. Rolling with the Jaguars here because of QB uncertainty in Houston.
