  • Denver’s Thursday night win put it atop the AFC standings for at least a few days.

The Indianapolis Colts are in Germany to face the Atlanta Falcons, while the New England Patriots visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

There’s a chance that one or both of the Colts and Patriots lose, which would open up a gap at the top for the Broncos.

Denver has no time to rest, though, since it has a Week 11 clash with the Kansas City Chiefs waiting for it. Kansas City is on a bye in Week 10.

The Broncos already lost to the Los Angeles Chargers, so suffering two defeats to their biggest divisional rivals could cost them later in the season.

Kansas City can’t end the weekend in a playoff position, no matter what happens to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Houston due to the Jags’ head-to-head win over Kansas City.

The Chargers would love to stay one game adrift of Denver, but they have a tough Sunday night home game with the Steelers, a game that Pittsburgh needs to stay in a good position atop the AFC North.
