Pittsburgh Steelers at Los Angeles Chargers preview
The Chargers have won their last two games to reach 6-3 but last week’s 27-20 win over the Titans came at a heavy price as they lost offensive tackle Joe Alt to a season-ending ankle injury.
Their offence had looked much improved since he returned from a previous issue and now they look vulnerable again.
The Steelers should be in great spirits after handing the Colts only their second loss of the season last week. Their defence forced six turnovers as well as deflecting 13 passes and recording five sacks.
It was a welcome performance after defeats by the Bengals and the Packers in their previous two outings and it will really help them if their defence can continue to take the pressure off veteran QB Aaron Rodgers and their offence.
The Steelers rank only 28th in yards per carry and 19th in yards per pass but they should have some success against the depleted Chargers offence and head coach Mike Tomlin has an excellent 67-40-4 record against the handicap when his team are the underdogs. Take the Steelers with the points.
