Many services and businesses in Prince Edward Island will be closed Tuesday as Canada remembers its many fallen soldiers and honours veterans for their service on Remembrance Day.
Here is a partial list of what will be open and closed on Nov. 11.
It’s still a good idea to call ahead if you plan on going somewhere that’s not listed below.
Government offices and services
- All provincial government offices will be closed.
- Access P.E.I. locations will be closed.
- Charlottetown City Hall will be closed.
- Summerside City Hall is closed.
- Three Rivers Town Hall will be closed for the day.
- Canada Post will not be picking up or delivering mail Tuesday, and its post office locations will be closed.
- Island Waste Management Corporation will not be collecting trash. The alternate pickup date is Nov. 15.
- Public libraries across P.E.I. are closed.
- T3 Transit lines will not be operating.
Grocery and retail
- Sobeys locations across the Island are closed.
- Foodland and Co-Op locations across P.E.I. will all be closed.
- Atlantic Superstore locations are closed.
- Walmart locations will be closed.
- Giant Tiger locations will be closed.
- P.E.I. Liquor Control Commission stores will be closed.
- P.E.I. Cannabis locations will be closed.
- The Royalty Crossing Mall is closed.
- The Confederation Court Mall will be closed.
- The County Fair Mall in Summerside will be closed, but Lawtons Drugs will be open.
- Kensington Food Basket will be open.
Pharmacies
- Lawtons Drugs locations will be open on their usual Sunday hours.
- Shoppers Drug Mart Locations will be open regular hours, except for the Confederation Court Mall location, which will run on holiday hours.
- Some Murphy’s Pharmacy Locations will be closed, but other will operate on holiday hours.
