RECORD-CHALLENGING HEAT TODAY, SATURDAY

Temperatures will soar with several spots reaching 90°. Records may fall not just today, but heat is expected again Saturday. South Texas is forecast to be the hottest place in the country.

SUNDAY’S COLD FRONT: 20° DROP, VERY WINDY

A strong cold front arrives just after midnight, bringing very gusty winds. Gusts of up to 40-45 mph are possible from sunrise Sunday through noontime. Temperatures will start in the 50s with little warming, with highs in the upper-60s.

Sunday brings a significant fire threat with strong winds & dry air. A Fire Weather Watch is in effect. Extra caution is recommended; avoid outdoor burning & activities that could spark fires. Keep an eye on changing conditions.

30S MONDAY, TUESDAY MORNINGS

Once winds decrease Monday night, temperatures will fall quickly. By Monday morning, San Antonio will see lows in the 30s.

However, outlying areas could briefly touch the freezing mark and those in the Hill Country should prepare for a light freeze. Similar temperatures are expected Tuesday morning.
