Dharmendra Health Update: ‘Dharmendra not on ventilator, actor is recuperating,’ confirm sources

Dharmendra Health Update: Sources close to the family of veteran actor Dharmendra have dismissed the speculation that he is critical and on ventilator support. Dharmendra, who will turn 90 in December, has been hospitalised for more than a week at Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital. The source said the actor is under observation and recuperating.
On Monday, reports suggested that the actor had taken a turn for the worse and was critical. While the hospital officially refused to respond, sources close to Sunny Deol have dismissed the reports as fake. “The whole ventilator news is fake. Dharmendra has been hospitalised for a week but he is not on a ventilator. Sunny Deol visited Dharmendra in the morning at the hospital and he is back now. If something like this would have happened, his entire family would have been in the hospital,” he told SCREEN.
The actor’s team also shared a statement which read, “Dharmendra is stable and under observation. Further comments and updates will be shared as available. Request everyone to pray for his speedy recovery and respect the family’s right to privacy.”

Hema Malini, meanwhile, told HT City that they are hoping for a quick recovery. “We are hoping for a speedy recovery,” she said. She was also seen visiting the actor at the hospital.
Dharmendra was hospitalised on October 31 for a routine check-up. He has been in the hospital since then. His team had stated at the time, “There is absolutely no cause for concern. The actor is in good health and visits the hospital often for routine medical tests, which is the reason for his current stay. It seems that someone spotted him there, which has led to a frenzy among his fans, but there is nothing to worry about as he is absolutely fine.” However, reports have claimed that the veteran actor was taken to the hospital after complaining of breathlessness.
The actor will be seen in Sriram Raghavan’s directorial Ikkis, where he stars with Agastya Nanda and Simar Bhatia. Ikkis is inspired by the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra at just 21, honoured posthumously for his unmatched courage and sacrifice during the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
