Actor Dharmendra has once again been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai. In the last couple of hours, there have been reports that the veteran star has been put on a ventilator. However, his team told India Today that while the 89-year-old Bollywood icon is admitted to the hospital, he is stable.
A statement from his team read, “Mr. Dharmendra is stable and under observation. Further comments and updates will be shared as available. Request everyone to pray for his speedy recovery and respect the family’s right to privacy.”
Earlier during the day, the actor’s team released another statement mentioning that there was nothing to worry about. “They requested privacy at this time. He’s under observation, but there’s nothing to worry about,” the actor’s team said.
Earlier in October, he was admitted to the same hospital for a routine medical check-up, sparking concern among fans after reports of his hospitalisation surfaced online. “He undergoes a series of tests periodically given his age, and is in the hospital for the same. Someone may have spotted him and created a news piece. He is absolutely fine and there’s nothing to be worried about,” the team told us.
In the days that followed, his wife, actor Hema Malini, was seen greeting paparazzi at the Mumbai airport, where she shared an update on Dharmendra’s health and assured everyone that he was recovering well.
Dharmendra, who turns 90 this December, continues to stay active on screen. The veteran actor will next be seen in Sriram Raghavan’s upcoming biographical war drama ‘Ikkis’, co-starring Agastya Nanda and Jaideep Ahlawat. The film is slated for a theatrical release in December.
