After a pleasant day yesterday, this morning will start off mostly cloudy and misty.

Rain over north Connacht and north Ulster will gradually clear to the north, and elsewhere will see a mixture of bright or sunny spells and a few showers.

This evening is set to turn cloudier in the southwest, with the highest temperatures ranging between 9 and 12C across the country today.

Tonight will start off mostly dry, but persistent and heavy rain will develop in the southwest.

It will later spread northwards to all areas overnight, with spot flooding in places, Met Éireann has warned.

Temperatures will drop overnight to 1 and 7C, becoming the coldest in Ulster before the rain arrives.

Tuesday might continue wet, with persistent and heavy rain in many areas across the county, bringing a risk of spot flooding.

However, rain will gradually clear to the north through the late afternoon and evening, with only a few showers following.
