Is Dispatch getting a second season? Well, that’s something the developer is definitely going to “think” about

Dispatch has been a massive success for developer AdHoc Studios. In fact, it has been such a hit, the team has admitted it will have to “think” about giving us all a second season.

Dispatch is an episodic superhero workplace comedy, with the first installments released in early October. Since then, it was announced that Dispatch had sold over 1m copies in just 10 days. Then more recently, the game topped its original player peak on Steam after its latest episodes made their comic debut.

Even though the final episodes haven’t been released yet, the Dispatch team has now acknowledged how popular its game is, and admitted it will have to consider another season of its workplace comedy. AdHoc co-founders Nick Herman and Pierre Shorette recently appeared on Skill Up’s The Friends Per Second podcast, where host Jake Baldino asked about the studio’s next project. Here, Shorette said AdHoc is going to “have to at least think about” a second season of Dispatch.

The studio founder added that was a “question mark” three weeks ago, but obviously things have changed now. I, for one, would absolutely love more from the Dispatch world, even though it will clearly be a way off if it does materialise. While I still have a few chapters to go before I am up to date, I have already become emotionally invested in the characters and this world (so, yes I am prepared to be crushed when the final episodes come out very soon).

In addition to Dispatch, AdHoc also has a project in the works with Critical Role, which will be set in the world of Exandria. As for what this Critical Role game will look like, well it will take some inspiration from Dispatch. “We’re tossing around ideas, what are we thinking about in terms of scope and budget, and some of the things we must have,” Critical Role’s Travis Willingham said earlier this year. “You are going to want to see your favorite characters.”

Willingham added the game will be “something unique in the world of Exandria”, and one he believes will “have to be something brand-new in terms of storyline”.
