‘That smell is getting worse’ – warnings that staff might have to move over foul stench from underneath €1.4m security hut

Before it was resolved, odour was so bad that even members of the public complained

The Office of Public Works said stagnant water trapped in drainage lines was the cause of the issue

The Department of Agriculture had warned that its staff might have to move out of its premises because of the foul stench emanating from underneath the controversial €1.4m security pavilion at Government Buildings.

The pavilion was one of three projects approved by the Office of Public Works that caused outcry over the past 14 months.
