I’m a Celebrity star Jack Osbourne has admitted that it will be ‘difficult’ for him on the ITV programme after the passing of his rock icon dad Ozzy.

Music legend Ozzy passed away at the age of 76 on Tuesday, July 22, just weeks after a Black Sabbath reunion concert held in his home city of Birmingham.

Ozzy, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2019, was ‘with his family and surrounded by love’ at the time of his passing.

His family said in a statement at the time: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”

Several months on from his dad’s passing, Jack was among 10 stars announced on Monday evening (November 10) to be competing on the 2025 edition of I’m A Celebrity.

Speaking to ITV about his decision to join the programme, Jack revealed that his mum Sharon and sister Kelly have given him their full support.

“Mum and Kelly, yeah they are absolutely going to be watching. They are supportive,” he said.

Jack continued: “It’s absolutely going to be hard leaving them behind. I have got lots of kids, my wife, and my family still in the wake of my dad passing.

“It is going to be difficult, that is for sure. “It’s not the longest amount of time I’ve been away from them. I’ve gone on different trips filming Adrenaline Junkie for nearly two months without a phone, but I still had access to one and I was able to make calls home.

“It’s going to be very difficult not speaking to my wife and kids. But yes, I do hope I can make my family proud.”

Despite feeling ‘very nervous’ about being a campmate in Australia, Jack maintains that he’s looking forward to giving it his all.

“I definitely had to think about doing this programme. It’s an absolute commitment but the real reason why it is popular is people sit at home saying, ‘Could I do that?’, so I think a lot of why I’ve said ‘yes’ is the intrigue and how would I survive that? I am very nervous though,” he noted.

One thing that Jack isn’t looking forward to about I’m A Celebrity, Jack confessed that hunger might get the better of him when it comes to the famous eating trials.

“That’s going to be interesting. I’m not a picky eater and we will see. And maybe you are so hungry you will just want to eat anything!

“Heights do not bother me at all, because I have been climbing for years and I’ve done some pretty sizable routes – so it’s not a problem for me. But I’m not really great with bugs,” he said.

Jack added: “I think it’s going to be potentially somewhat transformative. A lot of people who have done this programme have had a really profound experience.”

I’m A Celebrity returns on ITV1 and on ITVX on Sunday, November 16, at 9pm
