Elizabeth Line closure to affect Woolwich and Abbey Wood this weekend

Rail travellers from Woolwich and Abbey Wood will face disruption this weekend as the Elizabeth Line closes for engineering works.
There will be no service from Paddington to Abbey Wood or Stratford on Saturday or Sunday, with the entire section through central London closed.
Trains to Heathrow will also not be running, with services only running from Paddington to Reading and Liverpool Street to Shenfield.
There will be some alternative services from Woolwich and Abbey Wood, with Southeastern and Thameslink services running into central London as normal.
However, for passengers heading out of the capital, on Sunday there will be no trains between Dartford and Rochester because of maintenance works. Buses will run instead.
On Saturday and Sunday, there will also be no trains between Canning Town and Stratford International on the Docklands Light Railway, with passengers asked to use the Jubilee Line or local buses instead.
The next weekend-long closure of the Elizabeth Line at Woolwich and Abbey Wood is due for March 21 and 22, according to TfL’s long-term engineering guide.
But there are some other disruptions due in the coming weeks: Woolwich station will open at 10am on two Sunday mornings, November 30 and December 7; there is no service planned for Boxing Day; and the line at Woolwich and Abbey Wood will not open until 11.30am on February 15, 22 and March 1.
