Gardaí are advising the public to be alert to an increase in bogus tradesmen operating in Kerry.
A man was scammed out of a considerable amount of money following an incident last week.
It occurred on November 3rd between 5 and 7PM at Tubrid More, Ardfert.
A man purporting to sell security equipment and systems used pressure tactics to demand a cash deposit from the individual.
The homeowner later discovered the equipment did not work, and the bogus tradesman did not return.
