Delhi-NCR schools will be switching to Hybrid Mode under GRAP-III restrictions. The classes up to 5th standard will shift to a hybrid (both online and offline) mode. Students, as well as their parents, will have the option to choose online mode.
What is GRAP?
GRAP is a multi-step plan designed to fight air pollution in the Delhi-NCR region. It includes specific measures and rules that must be followed. In winter, GRAP restrictions are applied based on air quality, which is divided into four stages:
- Stage I (Poor, AQI 201-300)
- Stage II (Very Poor, AQI 301-400)
- Stage III (Severe, AQI 401-450)
- Stage IV (Severe Plus, AQI above 450)
Outdoor Activity Suspended
Most schools in Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad have suspended outdoor activities due to these health risks. Reports also indicate that school assemblies have been cancelled to limit students’ exposure to toxic air, and air purifiers have been installed across school premises. Parents and students are advised to keep track of the school’s official website and WhatsApp group.
Will Schools Be Closed in Bihar?
School holiday tomorrow, November 12: Schools in 122 assembly seats where the second phase was held were shut on November 11. However, these 20 districts will be opening tomorrow with regular classes. The districts voting in this phase included East Champaran, West Champaran, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Banka, Jamui, Nawada, Gaya, Aurangabad, Jehanabad, Arwal, Kaimur, and Rohtas.

School holiday tomorrow, November 12: The Telangana government has declared a public holiday on November 11, 2025, in view of the by-election for the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency. The schools will open tomorrow.
Are Schools closed in Jammu and Kashmir on November 12?
The schools in Jammu and Kashmir had also announced a holiday on November 11, 2025 (Tuesday) in connection with the bye-elections to Assembly Constituencies 27-Budgam and 77-Nagrota. The schools in the district remained closed on Tuesday. However, it will reopen on November 12, 2025.
Will Schools Stay Closed on November 10 in States Affected by Cyclone Montha — Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Odisha?
School holiday tomorrow, November 12: Most schools in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Odisha, which were affected by Cyclone Montha, have reopened. Both private and government schools and colleges have started regular classes. However, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast mixed weather across India next week also.
Several other states may also see light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds. The IMD also forecasts a prolonged wet spell over the southern peninsula, particularly impacting Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.

- 14 November 2025 – Children’s Day (Bal Diwas). Not a holiday, as Children’s Day (November 14) is not a public holiday in India. It is celebrated in schools across the country with programmes. It is the birthday of India’s first prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. The chance of regular classes is minimal.
- 15 November 2025 – Jharkhand Foundation Day. Schools will remain closed in Jharkhand. Jharkhand was formed on November 15, 2000. Jharkhand became India’s 28th state under the Bihar Reorganisation Act. The day is also the birthday of Birsa Munda, a tribal freedom fighter. People across Jharkhand celebrate it with pride and enthusiasm. Schools and government offices in the state stay closed.
- 24 November 2025 – Shaheedi Diwas of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. Schools will be closed in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, UP, and a few other northern states. Shaheedi Diwas on November 24 honours Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the ninth Sikh Guru, who gave his life to protect religious freedom. The day is marked with prayers, kirtan singing, and remembrance ceremonies in Gurudwaras.
