Princess of Wales goes solo to remember nation’s war dead at remembrance event

The Princess of Wales led the nation today in commemorating Armistice Day with a service of remembrance at the Armed Forces Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum.
A two-minute silence was observed at 11:00, followed shortly afterwards by Her Royal Highness laying a wreath to honour and remember Armed Forces personnel who have served and made sacrifices for the nation.
Around the UK, from central London’s Cenotaph and other city centres to village memorials, crowds gathered for services, wreath-laying and the traditional silence, with veterans, serving personnel and families standing shoulder to shoulder as buglers played the Last Post.
Meanwhile, Queen Camilla travelled to London Paddington railway station as part of the Great Western Railway ‘Poppies to Paddington’ event to mark Armistice Day,
