Coldplay’s Chris Martin and Jonny Buckland to Host Charity Gig in London for Crisis and War Child

Coldplay’s Chris Martin and Jonny Buckland are set to perform at an intimate charity concert in London, aimed at raising funds for Crisis and War Child. Taking place on December 3 at Hackney Church, this event follows a successful performance last year that raised over £350,000 for Crisis, a charity dedicated to helping individuals transition out of homelessness. The duo has a longstanding relationship with Hackney Church, having played memorable holiday shows there in 2011 and 2015.
This time, the concert aims not only to benefit Crisis but also to support War Child, an organization focused on protecting the rights of children affected by conflict. The ticketing for the event will be handled through a prize draw, which is currently open and will conclude on November 17 at 11:59 PM GMT. A total of 150 pairs of tickets will be awarded to randomly selected winners, who are required to present photo identification upon entry. Notably, the tickets will be non-transferable to ensure authenticity.
Coldplay currently has no additional concert dates lined up after recently wrapping up their ‘Music Of The Spheres’ tour, which saw them make history with the highest-grossing rock tour to date, grossing over $1 billion. The tour began in March 2022 and included a standout performance at Glastonbury 2024, where they continued to showcase their enduring popularity.
Earlier this summer, Martin and the band achieved a record-breaking 10-night residency at London’s Wembley Stadium. During one of those performances, Martin revealed that their tour was far from over, indicating a future with 138 more shows planned, alongside hints of new music on the horizon.

In conversations regarding their studio work, Martin confirmed that Coldplay’s catalogue will reach its conclusion after 12 albums, although the timeline has been adjusted, suggesting a release delay for upcoming projects. He teased that the next album, humorously referred to by Martin as a “musical,” may follow album number 11 due to the lengthy production process associated with musicals.
As the band looks forward, media discussions have centered on their future, with potential lineup shifts and their last studio album—a straightforwardly titled “Coldplay”—slated to arrive later than originally anticipated. Martin has expressed a deep attachment to Coldplay and the challenge of moving beyond their established discography once it concludes.
This charitable event is an opportunity for fans to engage with Martin and Buckland while supporting vital causes, reflecting Coldplay’s ongoing commitment to social issues and the well-being of vulnerable communities.
