‘It’s Been a Dream’: Marvel Boss Raves About PS5 Fighter’s ArcSys and PlayStation Team-Up

Marvel Games’ general manager, Haluk Mentes, has shared his thoughts on the upcoming fighting game from Sony and Arc System Works, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls.

In an interview with Game Informer, Mentes only has glowing comments for the collaboration between his team and the aforementioned publisher and developer.

“Others have said it better, but I’ll repeat here: working with ArcSys and PlayStation has been a dream,” says Mentes, who goes on to talk about the game’s “unique, anime-inspired art-style and some of the best tag-team fighting mechanics out there”.

He continues, talking about merging the iconic designs of Marvel’s superheroes with Arc System Works’ Japanese sensibilities. “From the get-go, we collectively started pushing the envelope in terms of design to bring out that unmistakable ArcSys identity,” Mentes says.

“I particularly love how Iron Man looks in the game – super unique but instantly recognizable. We’re incredibly proud of Marvel Tōkon and I think players are in for a real treat when it comes out next year.”

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is a PS5 console exclusive, coming to the machine alongside a PC release sometime in 2026.

Published by PlayStation, the game features a 4v4 tag-team system, whereby you must assemble your characters over the course of a match. Once you do, you can swap between them to take advantage of each fighter’s unique strengths.

We haven’t seen a huge amount of the game yet, and we’ve been hoping to see some new character reveals for a while.

Could Marvel Tokon show up at the newly announced State of Play Japan? Maybe, but we’ll have to wait and see.
