Elden Ring Nightreign will get DLC before end of March 2026

The Elden Ring Nightreign DLC is likely to release in early 2026, or as FromSoftware’s parent company likes to call it, the final part of “FY2025.” This means that Nightreign’s first major DLC is still underway, but it may take a little longer than you might’ve hoped.

When Elden Ring Nightreign was released in May 2025, it was already confirmed that the game would receive an expansion, as the deluxe edition and deluxe upgrade pack include the promise of a future DLC upgrade. However, the product description says “Additional DLC will be available by Q4 2025,” which, as we’re heading into the final weeks of the calendar year, is why many Nightreign players are wondering what happened to the expansion plans.

Kadokawa, FromSoftware’s parent company, released a second quarter earnings report on Nov. 6 which shines new light on the expected Nightreign DLC release date in its “future outlook” on page 16: “FromSoftware is currently developing Elden Ring Nightreign DLC (planned for release in FY2025) Elden Ring Tarnished Edition (planned for release in 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2), and The Duskbloods (planned for release in 2026).”

Unlike the calendar year 2025, Kadokawa’s fiscal year runs until March 31, 2026, which means that Elden Ring Nightreign’s DLC will arrive in March of next year at the latest. So, in a way, FromSoftware is keeping its promise of a Q4 2025 release. Of course, the Nightreign DLC may still arrive sooner, possibly even before the end of the calendar year 2025.

Elden Ring Nightreign has already received patch and updates aplenty, as well as the larger Deep of Night update, the latter of which added a new difficulty layer to the game. But as these were free updates, the paid DLC likely includes far more substantial content additions.

According to a product description, the upcoming Nightreign DLC will contain “additional Nightfarers and bosses,” though the exact contents are yet to be revealed. Based on that plural form, it doesn’t feel too optimistic to expect two new Nightfarers and a handful of new monstrosities. It would also make sense to see some weapons from Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion or even a new map.

Since the deluxe edition costs $15, the DLC might fall in a similar price range. Beware that the deluxe upgrade is only available for purchase until the DLC arrives.
