“It became part of my love story”: Valeri Bure’s wife Candace Cameron Bure drops throwback photos from over three decades ago

Valeri Bure’s wife actress Candace Cameron Bure shared a pair of throwback photos on Instagram this Friday, revisiting memories from the early years that eventually led up to her relationship with the former NHL forward.

The post featured two images labeled “1992” and “1994” showing the Full House star first on the ice during a hockey-themed episode and later posing rinkside with her husband.

In her caption, Cameron Bure reminisced how she watched her Full House co-star Dave Coulier play in a charity hockey game two years before he introduced her to Valeri.

“Throwing it back to when hockey was just a storyline… before it became part of my love story! 🫶🏼” she wrote.

“Who would’ve thought I’d be watching “Joey” @dcoulier play hockey two years before he introduced me to my husband… at a hockey game?! God really does write the best stories. ❤️🏒✨”

Cameron Bure and Valeri Bure met in 1994 after Coulier arranged their introduction at a charity match. They married in June 1996 and have three children together, Natasha, Lev and Maksim.

Valeri Bure played ten seasons in the NHL with Montreal, Calgary, Florida, St. Louis and Dallas, recording 174 goals and 400 points before retiring due to injury in 2005. Candace Cameron Bure, best known for portraying D.J. Tanner on Full House and Fuller House, has since built a career in family-focused film and television.

Candace Bure took to Instagram following the wedding to share a carousel of photos capturing the ceremony and reception.

“Natasha, you are radiant inside and out and are already the best wife to your beloved,” she wrote in her caption. “My heart swells with happiness for you two. We love you both so much. May God bless all the days of your lives together ❤️❤️❤️.”

Behind-the-scenes moments included Candace helping Natasha into her wedding dress, a close-up of the couple’s “Just Married” cake and a sweet shot of the newlyweds sharing ice cream cones during the reception.

The Malibu wedding followed the couple’s engagement announcement in April 2025 about a year after making their relationship public.
