SAN FRANCISCO — Golden State Warriors star guard Stephen Curry is expected to return Tuesday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder after missing his third straight game Sunday night because of a lingering cold.

“We’re expecting Steph to be back Tuesday,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said after Sunday’s 114-83 win over the Indiana Pacers. “So that will be helpful.”

Curry hasn’t been feeling well since he started experiencing cold symptoms during the Warriors’ trip last week to Milwaukee and Indianapolis. He helped the Warriors beat the Phoenix Suns last Tuesday but was coughing at the podium and hasn’t been on the floor since. Kerr said Curry got a solid shooting workout in with assistant coach Bruce Fraser before Sunday’s game and is expected to get another workout in before Monday afternoon’s flight to Oklahoma City.

Curry appeared to be feeling better while sitting on the bench with his teammates on Sunday night. The Warriors, who have lost four of their last six games, are hoping Curry will be ready to go against the defending NBA champions.

“It changes completely,” veteran Al Horford said of having Curry on the floor. “It’s a privilege, luxury, whatever you want to call it. But it’s that big of a difference when he’s not in, and I know that it’s the NBA and we have to find ways, but we can’t wait for him to get back out there. But hopefully, it’s on Tuesday.”

Kerr also hopes Curry’s presence will help stabilize the lineup combinations the Warriors have gone through early in the season. Third-year guard Brandin Podziemski started with Jimmy Butler, Quinten Post, Draymond Green and Jonathan Kuminga on Sunday night.

“We’ve had a lot of different starting lineups,” Kerr said. “We’ve kind of gone back and forth between Quinten and Brandin at times. I’d like to gain more consistency with the lineup. I like Quinten out there with that first group. … I imagine I’m gonna keep Quentin out there in the lineup, but we have to look at everything, obviously. The starting group the last few games hasn’t been great. It’s a little clunky — you guys can see it — but I do like Quinten with the first group.”
