What’s the Next Solo Leveling? 2026 Already Has Its True Successor Locked In

In just two seasons, Solo Leveling has cemented itself as one of the most exciting anime series of the past decade. Both seasons of the series broke record after record, but there still hasn’t been an announcement for a potential third season. There is one series that is the perfect replacement for anyone waiting for more of Sung Jinwoo.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s third season has been announced, and it’s slated to return January 2026. There’s no way of knowing exactly when Solo Leveling’s third season will finally be released, but there’s no need to wait: Jujutsu Kaisen is here, and the next arc that it’s going to animate is the series’ most brutal.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution is set to premier on December 5th, showcasing the first two episodes of the upcoming season as well. There isn’t another series that truly captures the magic of Solo Leveling, but, luckily, Jujutsu Kaisen is a monster in its own right.
Shōnen Is Better than Ever
There’s Never Been a Better Time to Be a Shōnen Fan
There has never been a better time to be a fan of shōnen anime series. There are so many amazing shōnen series that it can feel overwhelming at times, almost as if there are too many to watch. It’s the best problem to have, as there is no shortage of amazing series to dive into.
Series like One Piece and My Hero Academia have been airing for years, and somehow, both of them are reaching new highs that nobody could have seen coming. Even after 1,000 episodes, One Piece is proving that it’s better than ever, and My Hero Academia’s final seasons are reaching peaks true fans always knew the series could achieve.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part One: Akaza Returns has become the highest-grossing Japanese film of all time, showing just how deeply people connect with the Demon Slayer franchise. Chainsaw Man the Movie: Reze Arc is a victory for fans of anime, as it showcased a brutal, dark franchise glowingly.
Even new shōnen series like Gachiakuta are proudly announcing that shōnen is far from over. Gachiakuta is a milestone for shōnen, and it’s already becoming one of the most beloved franchises around.
Solo Leveling Is as Good as It Gets
It’s the Best Shōnen Series in Years
When it comes to shōnen, there isn’t a series as big as Solo Leveling at the moment. It’s so ridiculously popular that even people who aren’t fans of anime know who Sung Jinwoo is. The show is everything a shōnen should be: it’s filled with action, has an amazing main character, and is set in a world just waiting to be explored.
While Demon Slayer dominates at the box office, Solo Leveling reigns supreme as the king of anime. It constantly breaks records on Crunchyroll, the biggest streaming site for anime lovers in the West. It doesn’t matter what comes after: there isn’t another franchise that can touch Solo Leveling currently.
Solo Leveling’s first season introduced the world to Jinwoo and the world of Hunters, while the second season showed, arguably, the greatest arc of the entire series. There are still plenty of great moments to come for Sung Jinwoo and his Shadows, but nobody knows when they’re coming.
Will There Be a Solo Leveling Season 3?
Even After All Its Success, Solo Leveling Hasn’t Announced a Third Season
Solo Leveling is the first series that should have gotten another season announced. While the disastrous The Beginning After the End got a second season, fans of Solo Leveling are still waiting to hear when the world of Hunters will return to Crunchyroll.
There have been rumors of a Solo Leveling movie set to take place before a third season. While we don’t know if this movie will be released in 2026, or if it will be released at all, there is one series that acts as a perfect interim for anyone wanting more action-packed anime.
Jujutsu Kaisen Is One of the Best Modern-Day Shōnen Franchises
It’s Dark, Gritty, and Emotional All at Once
Jujutsu Kaisen Culling Games visual Yuji Itadori
Jujutsu Kaisen is easily one of the best modern-day shōnen series. Itadori Yuji’s growth during the series is the epitome of good storytelling, and the franchise has no shortage of some of the best fights in the entire art form. Speaking of art, Jujutsu Kaisen’s art style is entirely its own, showcasing its characters in a beautiful bleakness that only series like Berserk can compare to.
Jujutsu Kaisen is only getting darker from here as well. Without getting into spoiler territory, Yuji’s days will, somehow, only get harder from here. Series creator Gege Akutami knows how to tell a compelling story, and some of that stems from just how far he’s willing to go.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s Third Season Is Going to Be Amazing
The Culling Games Are Peak
Jujutsu Kaisen’s third season will animate the highly-anticipated Culling Games Arc. It’s known as the most brutal arc in the entire series for good reason, and even Jujutsu Kaisen: 0 can’t compare to just how dark the Culling Games will get. Yuji will be pushed beyond his limits yet again, and if his fight against Mahito taught us anything, it’s that Yuji isn’t going to hold back any longer.
Solo Leveling’s best fights showcase Sung Jinwoo going all out. The best fight in the series is inarguably his fight against the Ant King, and Jinwoo uses every ability in his arsenal to take down the S-Tier threat. Unfortunately for Yuji, the young Jujutsu Sorcerer will also have to go all out if he hopes to survive the Culling Games.
Solo Leveling ended on an all-time high. Luckily, the franchise has a few more jaw-dropping fights just waiting to be animated.
Jujutsu Kaisen Is the Perfect Series for Anyone Waiting on Solo Leveling
Solo Leveling Season 3 Isn’t Here, but Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Is
There’s no telling when Solo Leveling will come out again. While a movie is looking more likely than another season of anime, there’s no need to wait: Jujutsu Kaisen is here. It’s a dark, gripping series that will showcase one of its best arcs during the beginning of 2026.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution looks to give fans a great preview of what’s to come as well. The movie will show the first two episodes of the newest season about a month before they’re released for streaming. While Solo Leveling is certainly in a league of its own, fans looking for something to watch in the meantime are spoiled with Jujutsu Kaisen.
