Gunfire and high-speed car chases have been seen and heard at Greenham Common as film crews continue working at the former airbase – amid rumours they’ve now been joined by a Hollywood A-lister.
Explosions and a ‘gigantic fireball’ were both reported last Monday – with the disturbance shaking the windows of homes five miles away and even triggering phone calls to West Berkshire Council from concerned residents.

Production crews have been seen leaving and entering the site regularly over the last week, which has become a favoured filming location in recent years for everything from movie blockbusters to exclusive drama series for streaming services such as Netflix and Apple TV.
High-speed car chases, featuring American Dodge vehicles, have been seen this week alongside the sounds of repeated gun fire.

Their presence is understood to be connected to the filming of The Beekeeper 2 – the sequel to action thriller The Beekeeper – starring British actor Jason Statham.
The Hollywood star – famous for his roles in films including The Expendables, the Fast & Furious franchise and The Meg – is said to have joined filming on set today (Tuesday), reportedly using a helicopter to come in and out of West Berkshire.

The Beekeeper follows retired government assassin Adam Clay, who in the first film sets out for revenge after his kind-hearted landlady falls victim to a phishing scam.
Filming for the second film began around a month ago with the actor – who is married to supermodel and actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley – having been seen shooting scenes from the new movie on the streets of London’s Canary Wharf earlier this month.
