Adam Peaty’s mum Caroline appears to have launched another scathing attack on her son via social media, amid swirling reports she’s been barred from his upcoming nuptials.
The mother-of-the-groom found herself excluded from fiancée Holly Ramsay’s hen party, despite celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay being welcomed at Adam’s stag do. Adam’s aunt publicly slammed the snub as “divisive and hurtful” on Instagram, with her stinging online comments reportedly prompting the couple to axe Caroline from their wedding entirely.
During what’s believed to be an ongoing rift between Caroline and the pair, she’s been sharing cryptic posts on Instagram expressing her pain. Following news of her alleged wedding ban, she delivered yet another pointed jab at her Olympic champion son, reports the Mirror.
Caroline shared an Instagram image featuring a quote that declared: “When you love someone, you protect them from the pain, you don’t become the cause of it.”
Adam’s mum has hit out
She accompanied it with the caption: “The ones I love are the people who hurt me the most.”
Supporters flocked to the comments section to continue targeting Adam amid the escalating tension with his mother. One follower commented: “You only get one mother in life, some people need to remember this.”
Another chimed in: “Hold your head up high; not many Mums would’ve got up at 4am for those pool runs. Adam should be so proud.”
A third user commented: “How dreadful for you! Hopefully one day he will realise that loving mums should be treasured. No woman should try to prevent that.”
Caroline liked the response.
This wasn’t Caroline’s only social media post regarding the matter. Following her exclusion from the hen party, she shared: “Crying is a way your eyes speak when your mouth can’t explain how broken your heart is.”
Whilst Caroline was caring for Adam’s son George, both the stag and hen celebrations were taking place. Caroline’s sister, Louise Williams, subsequently took to her own Instagram to address the circumstances, describing Holly as “divisive and hurtful” for excluding Caroline.
She has fell out with the star
Although her profile is now set to private, the message was initially visible to the public. In her caption, Louise penned: “@hollyramsayy I’m so glad that you had a great hen do. As a bride, you deserve that. However, as a person you were divisive and hurtful towards a woman, who I have loved and continue to love deeply.
“A woman who opened her home and heart to you. You decided, for whatever reason, not to invite her, your prospective mother-in-law to your hen night yet Adam invited his father-in-law, your dad, to his stag night.”
She went on: “You invited your mum (quite rightly) and even your mum’s assistant, your sisters, your friends, my niece, but not my sister, your future mother-in-law.
“I have also seen messages passing between her and Adam about this and other matters and, quite frankly, I expected better of you and definitely of Adam. You have inflicted a hurt on my sister that will take a very long time to heal if ever.”
The Mail revealed that the social media post left Adam and Holly so devastated that they’re now determined to sever all connections with the Peaty clan entirely, barring Caroline from their big day. Neither party continues to follow Caroline or Louise on Instagram any longer, with Adam’s sister Bethany believed to be the sole member of his family still welcome at the ceremony.
An insider close to the family revealed to The Sun: “It’s at a point now where Caroline has been told she should not come to the wedding. There is a feud rumbling on and it’s been absolutely devastating for everyone involved.”
