Amyl and The Sniffers are playing a free Fed Square show this Friday

Two days notice for a free Amyl and The Sniffers show feels about right for a band that built their reputation on raw, unfiltered punk rock.
Fresh off supporting AC/DC on their POWER UP Australian tour, Melbourne’s rowdiest export is heading straight to the heart of the city for High Voltage, a surprise performance announced just two days before doors open. The band will tear through their set on the Fed Square Main Stage, delivering the kind of unfiltered punk rock energy that’s earned them a global following.
Since forming as housemates in 2016, Amy Taylor, Bryce Wilson, Dec Mehrtens and Gus Romer have gone from backyard jam sessions to headlining festivals across the globe.

Their latest record Cartoon Darkness has picked up serious recognition, landing them Best Live Act and Best LP at the Rolling Stone Australia Awards. The band has sold out tours across the US, UK, Europe and South America, while destroying stages at Glastonbury and Coachella along the way. Taylor has become one of rock’s most recognisable frontwomen, leading a band that’s synonymous with Australia’s raw rock spirit.
Opening the night are Public Figures, the pop-rock project from Evie Vlah and Gigi Argiro. The Melbourne duo will kick things off with a mix of AC/DC covers and their own high-energy material, warming up the crowd before Amyl and The Sniffers take over. The show continues Fed Square’s run of major free outdoor performances this year, following sets from King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Kneecap and Robbie Williams.
The event celebrates AC/DC’s POWER UP tour hitting Melbourne, with the legendary band performing across Australia throughout November and December in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane.
