Emmerdale viewers have uncovered a major connection between two villagers and the storyline will be huge.
During the soap’s recent episode, it was revealed that Kev had a child with a barmaid named Emma.
It didn’t take long for people at home to realise that it couldn’t be anyone but Emma Barton – the mother of Pete, Ross, the late Finn and of course newcomer Lewis.
Lewis has already spoken about being adopted after Emma gave him up for adoption.
A Reddit user said: “Potentially a huge one. Is Lewis the son of Kev??? It would make sense having Liam in the ep, but there was no need for Lewis. The two chatting could’ve had the scene to themselves. The camera kept panning over to him when Kev was mentioning his son. It seemed like the boy is young, but I think Kev had been in prison for a while. Do we know exactly when he was sent down?
“A soap journalist on X stated we should avoid social media if not watching early, could it be due to this twist or the guest appearance? I missed the Emma mention, because I was so focused on my own thoughts, instead of listening. I’m embarrassed now. We can talk about the shock.
“I’m guessing Kev doesn’t know. He might be able to figure it out or know there’s at least a chance, once he hears Lewis’ surname. Am I correct in believing there was recently a confrontation with Ross?
“Or is this a huge coincidence, like with Zoe Slater returning the same day Joel mentioned his mum?”

One commenter replied: “Yup. He’s Lewis’ Dad! Kev mentioned his son’s Mum was someone called Emma who got murdered a few years ago and she put the child up for adoption when he was born so it all adds up!
“I think it was early 2000s Kev got sent down so the timelines match. Seriously, wtf though? I was not expecting that reveal!”
A second soap lover shared: “He also said she was a bit of a nutter, so it’s got to be Emma Barton!”
A third person added: “Of course he is! Be a bit of a coincidence given everything he said. Absolutely LOVE that twist! Definitely did not see it coming.”
With another person pointing out: “When I heard Kev start talking about possibly having a son with some barmaid named Emma my jaw hit the floor because he went on like ‘they could be the other side of the world’ and I loved how Lewis kept pacing back and forth as if to say ‘I’m right here’.”
Some people even think that it could indicate that Kev might be sticking around longer as more about his life is shown.
A social media user wrote: “It’s made me wonder if Kev won’t be leaving the village after all? I mean we know he’s not dying and now he has a family connection that I’m sure he’ll find out about sharpish!”
