LSU women’s basketball vs Charlotte score, live updates as Kim Mulkey, Tigers return home

BATON ROUGE — LSU women’s basketball first test against a team above level low Division I was passed with flying colors.
It also helped that it was the homecoming for LSU star Flau’jae Johnson. Riding the wind underneath Johnson’s sails, the Tigers dispatched of Georgia Southern, 118-70, on the road Sundau.
Now No. 5 LSU (3-0) looks to continue its hot streak to start the 2025-26 season against another uptick in competition against Charlotte (2-1) inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Wednesday (7 p.m. CT, SEC Network+).

Currently, LSU has the nation’s third highest scoring offense at 113.7 points per game, but it is the highest scoring team that has played more than one game so far this season. Kim Mulkey has a plethora of options and skilled players to choose from on the offensive end as six players are averaging double digits in scoring led by Johnson at 16 a contest.
MiLaysia Fulwiley averaged 15.3 points per game in her first season with LSU, while freshman ZaKiyah Johnson, Mikaylah Williams, Kate Koval and Grace Knox are put up more than 10 per game.
Charlotte dropped its season opener at Auburn, 71-58. Princess Anderson leads the way for the 49ers. The senior guard from Beaumont, Texas averages 17.3 points per game.
