Score: High Point 82, Merrimack 69
Records: High Point (3-0), Merrimack (1-2)

Head Coach Chelsea Banbury: “That was definitely a game of runs. I think we must have better starts, we come out and we’re down and we don’t have very good starts. It’s going to start on the defensive end. I don’t think our defensive intensity has been there the last two games. Fortunately, tonight, our bench was huge for us. They came in, made plays, and they turned them over. Peyton [Gerdes] was a huge part of that. She pressured up top and forced turnovers that turned into points. Forcing 27 turnovers and having 16 steals, I’d say that’s pretty good defense. We need to keep it up for 40 minutes.”

After falling behind early, High Point responded with a huge 31-point second quarter to flip the momentum and take a 42-28 lead into halftime. The Panthers never trailed again, maintaining control through a balanced offensive effort and strong defense.
