ITV has confirmed scheduling changes for Emmerdale, with the popular soap not airing on Thursday evening (November 13).
The long-running show typically airs weekdays at 7:30pm and offers an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
However, Emmerdale won’t be in its traditional slot today, as ITV will instead show the FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifier between England and Serbia, which kicks off at 7:45pm.
Coverage of the football match from Wembley Stadium will run from 7pm until 10:05 pm, followed by ITV News at Ten until 10:33pm.
Emmerdale fans will be relieved to hear that the soap is set to make its comeback in its usual slot on Friday night.
Faith Dingle returned to Emmerdale on Wednesday evening
Viewers were treated to a dramatic episode on Wednesday, which included flashbacks of Robert Sugden’s (Ryan Hawley) time in prison and his backstory with husband, Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill).
The flashbacks covered Robert’s six-year stint in prison, where he was serving a 14-year sentence for the murder of Lee Posner (Kris Mochrie), as the truth about what transpired while he was behind bars was finally exposed.
Robert was visited by the late Faith Dingle (Sally Dexter), who urged him to sort out his relationship with her grandson, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).

Faith confirmed that she was dying after stopping all treatment for cancer, and encouraged Robert to apply for release after new evidence proved that Lee could have died of a brain injury caused by his brother.
Faith then urged Robert to get in contact with Aaron to bring him back to the village, as Robert admitted he still loved Aaron.
Meanwhile, in the present day, Kev confided in Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) and admitted he has a son following a one-night stand with a woman called Emma, who had been murdered some time ago.

Robert is currently oblivious that his own husband is a dad as the couple’s lies continue. Kev also asked Liam not to tell Robert that he is not dying from a terminal heart condition.
As the episode ended, Kev worked out that Robert had lied to him about his sister Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) having a brain tumour as he applied for parole, which was granted earlier this year.
What will unhinged Kev do with the revelation about Victoria?
Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV and ITVX
