Arc Raiders has been an absolute smash hit since launching at the tail-end of last month, selling millions of units, attracting thousands upon thousands of concurrent players, and earning praise from fans and critics alike.
Despite launching just a few weeks ago, Arc Raiders developer Embark Studios is already gearing up to release the game’s first major content update, as the new Stella Montis map gets ready to make an appearance.
The only catch, however, is that fans will have to unlock the new map via the Breaking New Ground gameplay event.
Carved deep into the northern mountains, the Stella Montis map is home to an abandoned facility that despite having a cold and sterile appearance, is said to be much better preserved than other ruins scattered across the land.
Arc Raiders North Line update release date and launch time
According to a blog post on the official Arc Raiders website, the Breaking New Ground Community Unlock event will launch as part of an update at 9.30am GMT UK time on the morning of November 13.
That’s 4.30am ET and 1.30am PT for fans living in the US, and 10.30 CET for European players.

How do we unlock the Stella Montis map?
The new Stella Montis map will be available once the community bands together to complete the Breaking New Ground tunnel project. This involves collecting and donating resources to reach the new map.
“In this event, players are asked to contribute resources to the tunnel project,” Embark explains. “In Speranza, nothing comes for free, and the tunnel project is no different.
“Basic Materials must be collected and donated for the restoration of the tunnels to reach the fifth map: Stella Montis.”
Materials needed to unlock the map include Metal Parts, Fabric, Chemicals, Rubber Parts and Plastic Parts.
In addition to unlocking the new map, donations in the Breaking New Ground event will earn Merits, which is described as a new event currency that will fuel the next phase of progression.
It’s worth noting that while Embark Studio will place a cap on the number of Merits that can earned for donating materials, additional donations will still go towards the community’s efforts to reach Stella Montis.
“Once completed, the restoration of the tunnels and unlocking of Stella Montis will trigger Phase II, “Staking Our Claim,” a new progression track,” Embark adds.
How do I take part in the Breaking New Ground event?
Fans who want to take part in the event, earn Merits and help the community reach Stella Montis will need to have played at least five rounds.
What other new features are coming to the game as part of the North Line update?
In addition to the Stella Montis map, the North Line update adds two new ARC enemies, as well as a new Legendary Weapon, three new mines, two new grenades, and a selection of quests once the map is unlocked.
The enemies include the Matriarch, which is described as an “imposing ARC machine that makes the Queen look friendly”. The Shredder, meanwhile, is a close-quarter encounter found in Stella Montis.
Elsewhere, the update will adjust the pricing for various cosmetics available in the store.
“We have heard your feedback,” Embark explains. “We’ve reviewed our prices and made adjustments to lower prices where applicable.
“Revised prices will go live tomorrow, Thursday the 13th, at 10:30 CET. For any Raider who has already made a purchase on the old pricing, we’ll compensate you for the difference. These Raider Tokens will be refunded back into your account automatically in the coming week.”
