‘Wuthering Heights’ Trailer: Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi Fight and Kiss in the Rain in Emerald Fennell’s Steamy Adaptation

A new trailer for Emerald Fennell‘s “Wuthering Heights” has dropped, giving viewers a closer look at the star-crossed love story between Cathy (Margot Robbie) and Heathcliff (Jacob Elordi).

In the latest footage, soundtracked to a new song from Charli xcx’s concept album for the film titled “Chains of Love,” Robbie and Elordi’s characters are seen meeting as kids before facing differences as they grow older. “What would you do, Heathcliff, if you were rich?” Robbie’s Cathy asks Elordi’s orphaned antihero. “I supposed I’d do what all rich men do,” he responds. “Live in a big house, be cruel to my servants, take a wife.”

After Cathy reveals that she must marry the wealthy Edgar Linton (Shazad Latif) to retain her social status, a devastated Heathcliff dedicates his life to destroying their families. But Cathy struggles to fight her feelings for Heathcliff as the two fight and kiss in the rain several times in the trailer. “So kiss me, and let us both be damned,” Elordi’s Heathcliff says to Robbie’s Cathy as the clip ends.

“Saltburn” and “Promising Young Woman” filmmaker Fennell wrote, directed and produced her take on Emily Brontë’s 1847 gothic romance. Alongside Robbie and Elordi, the film stars Hong Chau as Nelly Dean and Alison Oliver as Isabella Linton. Owen Cooper (“Adolescence”) and Charlotte Mellington (“Matilda the Musical”) play younger versions of Cathy and Heathcliff.

“Wuthering Heights” is set to premiere in theaters on Feb. 13 from Warner Bros.
