Zayn Malik rejoins One Direction’s company as reunion hopes grow after Liam Payne’s passing

The decision comes as the singer prepares to launch his debut Las Vegas residency in January

Zayn Malik has made a notable move towards a potential One Direction reunion after being reinstated as an active director of the band’s original company, PPM Music Limited.

Malik, who left the globally successful group in 2015, had previously ended his directorial role in June 2016.

The decision comes as the singer prepares to launch his debut Las Vegas residency in January, marking a busy period for the “Dusk Till Dawn” performer. According to The Sun, this administrative change could signify renewed connections between Malik and his former bandmates Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Harry Styles.

A music industry source told the outlet, “This is a huge moment. While heartbreaking, Liam’s passing has brought them together, it’s even more sad he was the biggest cheerleader of a reunion.” The insider added, “PPM was the original company they set up when they won the show. The name stands for Princess Park Manor, the private gated complex they were moved into when they won the show.”

The same source confirmed, “Since Liam’s passing the boys have been in contact.” Payne, who tragically died last year after falling from a hotel room in Argentina, had long been vocal about wanting the band to reunite.

Adding to the speculation, Malik and Tomlinson are expected to feature together in a Netflix road trip documentary slated for 2026.

The pair were spotted together earlier this year, and when asked about rumours of a collaboration, Tomlinson replied, “I heard that. I thought that was pretty interesting, yeah … Pretty astute. I suppose they’ll just have to wait and see.”

The developments have reignited hope among fans that One Direction might once again share the stage.
