Netflix subscribers are being encouraged to tune into a gripping new psychological thriller that’s being praised as “a slam dunk of a show”.

The programme features several Hollywood heavyweights, including acclaimed actress Claire Danes and Breaking Bad favourite Jonathan Banks.

This chilling series presents a game of cat-and-mouse, exploring the perilous relationship between writer Aggie Wiggs (Danes) and her fresh neighbour, Nile Jarvis (Matthew Rhys).

Nile was once considered a person of interest in his wife’s vanishing, and Aggie becomes fixated on unravelling the enigma, endangering herself in the process.

The programme in question is The Beast in Me, with viewers already expressing their initial reactions.

Megamilkz commented on Reddit: “Just started this. Rhys is legitimately unnerving so far.”

Raehamm M wrote on Rotten Tomatoes: “I am only one episode in and I felt compelled to leave a review because it is that good!

“While my thoughts could be premature, I highly doubt it! I am struggling to not binge-watch the entire series and forget about sleeping tonight!

“Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys are outstanding in their roles! The filming is perfectly done to complement the subject.

“Again, finding myself questioning the last time, if there was one, that I noticed cinematography enough to comment on it.

“Matthew is brilliant as Nile. You can feel how wicked he is, easily seeing into his demented mind.

“His character evoked unexpected emotions in me because typically the villain is disliked but somehow his twisted sentiments come off as charming and dare I say likeable?!

“Again, both characters are amazing and I can’t wait to continue the series!”

Eli took to Twitter to commend the broader cast: “Just started #TheBeastInMe and Natalie Morales just got on my screen… I think I’ve been blessed… what an insane face card..”

Pramit Chatterjee simply labelled it “a slam dunk of a show”.

The Beast in Me is available on Netflix.
