Nikita Kuzmin has praised Amber Davies for ‘fighting for their spot’ in Strictly Come Dancing as they trained for their next performance.
Amber was drafted in at the eleventh hour to replace an injured Dani Dyer in this year’s line-up after the former Love Island winner fractured her ankle during training for her first live performance.
Weeks on and Amber and Nikita are currently preparing to perform in week eight of the show’s 2025 series, having successfully surpassed the mid-way point of the competition last weekend.
On Saturday (November 8), the pair were just beaten to the top of the latest leaderboard having scored 38 points, just behind Vicky Pattison and Kai Widdrington who received the best score of the night with 39 – out of a possible 40.
West End star Amber and dancer Nikita were seen performing a Salsa to You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real) by Sylvester, bagging their highest on the series.
While Craig Revel Horwood described the routine as: “Ah-mazing,” Motsi Mabuse gushed: “That was absolutely spectacular, guys. You’re amazing. Well done.”
Shirley Ballas added: “This was absolutely great, fluid, flexible, lovely rotation, those tricks, those highlights, in and out, and then you come out with all speed, and then you walk around like this is a piece of cake, do this every day, clean. Had great chemistry. Thoroughly enjoyed it.”
Amber and Nikita were then confirmed during Sunday’s (November 9) results show to be continuing in the BBC One dance contest, with them now set to perform a Paso Doble to ‘Dream On’ by Aerosmith this Saturday (November 15).

Ahead of their next performance, Nikita took to Instagram with a string of pictures of himself and Amber in the training room, as well as a video giving a glimpse at what they’ve been up to.
Alongside the post, the Ukrainian star gushed: “We’re putting everything we’ve got into this Paso! So so proud of you Amber, you’re giving it your all and improving everyday.
“So amazing to see you listening, absorbing all the information, training hard and fighting for our spot in the competition. Very proud partner.”
Amber was quick to respond to the post, as she wrote in the comments section: “The best teacher I could wish for. Thank you for pushing me,” while her theatre star boyfriend Ben Joyce also supported: “Legends!”
Fans, meanwhile, were also keen to show their support for the Strictly pairing. @andreastreeterbeauty said: “You’re working SO hard ,its going to be amazing, I know it is .So proud of you!” @hev552 commented: “Cannot wait to see an amazing, dramatic paso from you both. It’s going to be amazing.”
