King Charles III celebrates his 77th birthday on 14th November. From a schoolboy prince to a monarch who has fully embraced his own power, the King has gone from strength to strength and has demonstrated extraordinary stoicism in the face of private battles.
This last year has been one of trials and tribulations for His Majesty. Although his family can celebrate its continued support and popularity among the British public, there have been moments of extreme difficulty surrounding his brother Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, the former Duke of York, who was stripped of his royal titles in an historic move.
King Charles also faced ongoing health issues after announcing he was battling cancer last year. The King has displayed remarkable resilience and has continued to forge ahead with his royal duties, even while there must be significant anxiety blighting his personal life.
This year, King Charles will be celebrated by members of his family including Queen Camilla, the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent, all of whom have rallied to support the King even as other senior royals have been forced to step back.
