IND star likely to miss 2nd Test and ODIs vs SA for his wedding later this month

In a significant development, a wedding is on the cards for India spinner Kuldeep Yadav, and reports suggest that the left-arm spinner has applied for leave to the BCCI. The 30-year-old is all set to tie the knot with fiancée Vanshika later this month and is set to miss the ODI series vs South Africa.
According to a report from The Times of India, Yadav is awaiting approval from the apex cricket board of India and has sought leave in the last week of November. Notably, the left-arm spinner was all set to marry earlier this year, but the event got pushed because of Indo-Pak clashes at the border.
Because of the recent tensions between the two nations, IPL 2025 got delayed, but it eventually resulted in a change of plans for Kuldeep Yadav. Further, the Indian spinner announced his engagement to longtime girlfriend Vanshika in June 2025 and is now all set to marry the love of his life later this month.
“Kuldeep’s wedding is planned for the last week of November. The team management will assess when they need his services before granting him the exact number of leaves,” a BCCI source informed.
Kuldeep Yadav likely to miss 2nd Test and ODI series
Kuldeep Yadav is at present part of India’s squad for the ongoing Test series against South Africa and is featuring in the first Test at Eden Gardens. However, the spinner is expected to be relieved from the squad for the 2nd Test in Guwahati as it is all set to take place from November 22-26.
Also, the ODI series starts on November 30, which is unlikely to feature Kuldeep Yadav because of his personal commitments.
