Early Shock For Tejashwi Yadav As BJP’s Satish Kumar Takes Surprise Lead In Raghopur

In a surprising twist in the Bihar Assembly Elections, RJD chief and Mahagathbandhan’s chief ministerial face, Tejashwi Yadav, is trailing in the Raghopur constituency, a seat he has comfortably held in the past two elections.

Early data from the Election Commission at 11:10 am showed him lagging behind BJP candidate Satish Kumar Yadav by more than 1,000 votes.

By the fourth round of counting, Tejashwi’s deficit had widened to 3,016 votes.

So far, three rounds of counting have been completed, with more than 27 rounds still remaining. This leaves significant room for the contest to shift, as Raghopur’s vote count typically tightens in the later stages.

Raghopur has long been a Yadav stronghold. Tejashwi won the seat in both 2015 and 2020, securing 91,236 votes in 2015 with a margin of 22,733, and strengthening his tally to approximately 97,404 votes in 2020, while Satish Kumar Yadav’s vote share remained far lower at roughly 59,230.
