Nick Cannon’s Daughter Monroe, 14, Makes Rare Comment About Her ‘Much Younger’ Half-Siblings

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon’s 14-year-old daughter, Monroe, is offering rare insight into her family dynamics.
“Clearing something up guys, I only have ONE brother,” Monroe wrote via her Instagram Stories on Thursday, November 13, and tagging her twin Moroccan’s social media account.
Monroe, however, did acknowledge that she also has “other half-siblings from [her] dad.”
“But, they are all many years younger than me,” Monroe stated.
Crushing coparenting! Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have been amicably raising their twins, Moroccan and Monroe, since their 2014 split. The “We Belong Together” singer gave birth to the former couple’s little ones in April 2011, six months after Carey confirmed her pregnancy. “Yes, we are pregnant. It is true,” the New York native told […]
Carey, 56, and Cannon, 45, were married from 2008 to 2014, during which they welcomed their twins. After their divorce was finalized in 2016, Cannon went on to father 10 younger children with other partners. Carey and her kids have seldom addressed Cannon’s large brood.
“How do I say this? They spend time with him, and they have a good time,” Carey told Harper’s Bazaar in a July profile when asked about coparenting with Cannon. “They spend time with me, and they have a good time. I want to make sure I’m always fair about the situation because it’s tough to grow up with divorced parents.”
As for Cannon, he has also made sure to put Monroe and Moroccan’s wellbeing above any post-divorce animosity.

“We got our egos and this selfish behavior [but] when you put your children first, you understand that it’s all unconditional love. All that other stuff just falls apart,” the Wild ’n Out host exclusively told Us Weekly in 2019. “I always want what’s best for my children.”
Nearly four years later, Cannon revealed what Carey thought about his expansive brood.
“She high frequency, man. She always asks me, ‘You aight? You good? How you doing? You handling it all?” he recalled on an episode of “The Jason Lee Show” in 2023. “She’s like, as long as you don’t bring none of that bulls*** to the Manor of Carey.”
He added at the time, “She lives in her own world, nothing can infiltrate that stuff. When we talk daily, she’s just checking on my spirit. It’s, like, people create low-frequency messages to try and say that there’s something wrong. So, she encourages me. She’s like, ‘Yo, let’s make sure we on the same page every day.’”
Cannon also pointed out that he and Carey aren’t always on the same page when it comes to the twins’ social media usage.

“It’s a balance [and] it’s alignment,” he told host Jason Lee. “I let them run. They make TikTok videos with me and do all this stuff, and they do it with Mariah too, but I let them have a little bit more freedom, especially stepping into the place of being almost teenagers.”
According to Cannon, they had to adjust their social media guidelines after Moroccan was involved in an incident online despite the teen’s mature response.
“The few times we have let him go, he does it so classy. They said something about his mom, and he said, ‘Hold up,’” Cannon explained, detailing one of Moroccan’s livestreams. “He was on Twitch. He’s like, ‘First of all, I don’t discuss any of my family issues and I feel like you’re being disrespectful right now. That’s not why I’m here, so if you’re going to continue to ask me questions, I’m going to ask you to remove yourself.’”
