Kysre Gondrezick Becomes First Black Professional Athlete To Cover Playboy Magazine

Former WNBA player Kysre Gondrezick has made history, becoming the first Black professional athlete ever to grace the pages of Playboy magazine.
The 27-year-old former Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky guard was officially unveiled as Playboy’s “Miss June 2025,” marking a groundbreaking moment that bridges sports, fashion, and culture.
Gondrezick’s cover and feature spread are part of Playboy’s upcoming Winter 2025-26 issue, shot with retro-glam styling that nods to both her basketball roots and her off-court evolution.
“What people label as a transition, I embody as evolution,” Gondrezick told Playboy. “I’m not stepping outside who I am. I’m building a multidimensional brand.”
The Michigan native, who starred at the University of Michigan and West Virginia before being drafted fourth overall in the 2021 WNBA Draft, has steadily expanded her profile beyond sports. Since stepping away from the league, she’s leaned into modeling, brand partnerships, and creative projects that showcase her personal style and entrepreneurial vision.
On social media, Gondrezick celebrated the milestone, writing: “Proud to be the first Black professional athlete in history to ever grace Playboy magazine as a Playmate! x”
