IND vs SA, 1st Test: Jasprit Bumrah picks 16th five-for

Pacer Jasprit Bumrah took a five-wicket haul as India dismissed South Africa for just 159 in the first innings on the opening day of the Kolkata Test at the Eden Gardens on Friday.
It was the 16th five-wicket haul for Bumrah in his 51st Test which took him past Ravindra Jadeja’s tally of 15. He is now tied with legendary leg spinner B. Chandrasekhar in fifth place for most five-wicket hauls by Indian bowlers in the red-ball format. Only Ravichandran Ashwin (37), Anil Kumble (35), Harbhajan Singh (25) and Kapil Dev (23) have more.
Bumrah bowled Ryan Rickelton for his opening wicket before getting Aiden Markram caught behind by Rishabh Pant in the first session. He trapped Tony de Zorzi in front of the stumps after lunch for his third wicket.
He wrapped up the South African innings by going through Simon Harmer’s defence and dismissing Keshav Maharaj LBW with a yorker, taking his overall tally to 231 Test wickets.
