Red Dead Redemption, WWE, kids, puzzle and party games lead Netflix’s big games reboot

Netflix Games’ big reboot is being led by Red Dead Redemption, WWE 2K25, Netflix Puzzled and an array of kids and party games playable on-device and on TV.

Red Dead Redemption is coming to mobile for the first time on December 2. Rockstar’s western will be released as standalone games on iOS and Android as well as being part of Netflix. The Netflix edition also includes its Undead Nightmare DLC. Dates for WWE 2K25 and Netflix Puzzled are to be confirmed.

The streaming giant also unveiled Best Guess Live, a standalone live game show app coming soon, and there are several new kids games live now on the service, including Lego Duplo, Barbie Color Creations, Toca Boca Hair Salon 4 and Paw Patrol Academy.

The biggest focus for Netflix Games 2.0, however, appears to be big screen games. A host of family-friendly party games are live now on the service, including Lego Party, Boggle Party, Party Crashers, Pictionary: Game Night and Tetris Time Warp.

“Starting today, you can play games on your TV, using your phone as a controller – no setup needed, it’s as easy as streaming your favourite shows,” said Netflix games president Alain Tascan. “You can now go from watching KPop Demon Hunters to playing Pictionary: Game Night without ever leaving Netflix. And for those who love to play anywhere and everywhere, we’re bringing even more games to your phone with our own special Netflix touch.”

Adding to the party game roster soon is Dead Man’s Party: A Knives Out Game, based on the popular whodunnit franchise.

Netflix games president Alain Tascan teased this reboot at GDC, explaining that the streaming giant would now be concentrating on four main game types: party, kids, narrative and mainstream titles.

Tascan later told us more about Netflix’s gameplan, including how it wants to build a Fortnite-like social gaming experience. He also insisted Netflix is in gaming for the long term, and that its 2025 roster will help it finally “find its voice” in gaming.
