15 Sixes, 11 Fours: Vaibhav Suryavanshi Equals Rishabh Pant’s Record With Another Smashing Ton

Just when you thought Vaibhav Suryavanshi could not better what he achieved in the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he smashed a 35-ball century, he has bettered that with yet another T20 century, getting to the milestone of just 32 deliveries.

By doing so, he equalled Rishabh Pant’s record, who also slammed a 32-ball ton for Delhi against Himachal Pradesh in 2018. It is important to note that Survavanshi, who is currently playing for India A against the UAE in the Asia Cup Rising Stars in Doha, was dropped on 0 earlier in his innings.

The record for the fastest century by an Indian batter belongs to Abhishek Sharma and Urvil Patel, who got to their milestones off just 28 deliveries.

Fastest T20 century by an Indian batter (by balls):

28 balls – Urvil Patel, 2024

28 balls – Abhishek Sharma, 2024

32 balls – Vaibhav Suryavanshi, 2025

32 balls – Rishabh Pant, 2018

35 balls – Rohit Sharma, 2017

He was eventually dismissed for 144 off just 42 deliveries, scoring at a strike rate of 342.85. He also hit 15 sixes and 11 fours in his knock.

During his century in the IPL, Suryavanshi became the youngest T20 centurion at 14 years and 32 days. At 14 years and 232 days, he is also the second-youngest to the landmark. Before him, Vijay Zol held the record for the youngest T20 centurion at 18 years and 118 days.

India A are well on their way to getting 300 in this ongoing match in Doha, which will once again be a rare feat.
