Vaibhav Sooryavanshi played his first T20 match for India A on Friday, November 14, in Doha against the United Arab Emirates and scored 144 runs from just 42 balls. During his stay at the crease for the Jitesh Sharma-led side at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha, the left-handed batter hammered 11 fours and 15 sixes. His batting strike rate for India A on Friday was 343.
Sooryavanshi completed his half-century in just 17 balls after coming out to bat as an opener for the India A team and needed only 32 balls to reach the triple-digit mark.
He added 163 runs for the second wicket with Naman Dhir, who made 34 runs from 23 balls.
Sooryavanshi was sent back to the pavilion by Muhammad Farazuddin on the third ball of the 13th over. In an attempt to play a big shot, the Bihar-born cricketer was caught by Ahmed Tariq near the boundary ropes.
During his 144-run knock, Vaibhav became first batter to score century in a T20 match for India A.
Before Suryavanshi, the highest score for India A in a T20 match was in the name of Ajinkya Rahane. On June 24, 2012, in Port of Spain, Rahane hammered 79 runs from 63 balls for India A against the West Indies A team.

Apart from Sooryavanshi, India A captain Jitesh also impressed with his batting on Friday. The right-handed batter came out to bat at No. 4 and remained unbeaten on 83 runs from 32 balls.
