Poland v Netherlands
WHEN: Friday 14th of November, 19:45
WHERE: Stadion Narodowy, Warsaw.
Both teams to score: Yes
Ronald Koeman’s side have effectively already sealed their place at the 2026 World Cup after picking up five wins and a draw from an unbeaten qualification campaign so far.
La Oranje are currently on 16 points, with two matches to play, starting with Friday’s trip to Warsaw. Hosts Poland are in second spot on 13 points, but they trail the Dutch by a whopping 13 in the goal difference column.
Only Norway [on 29] have outscored the Netherlands [22] in qualifying and they have netted two or more goals in five of their six qualifiers, with a 1-1 home draw against Poland in September as the only bump in the road.
Poland have scored in all six so far, but both teams have only kept four clean sheets.
A draw or better seals top spot in the group for Koeman, but defeat would slightly open the door for Poland. However, the Dutch would need to slip up at home to Lithuania on Sunday to drop into the playoffs.
Memphis Depay to score
Leading the charge to the World Cup for Koeman is veteran forward Memphis Depay as top scorer in Group G with seven goals.
After overtaking Robin van Persie as the Dutch’s all-time leading scorer [now on 54] earlier in the campaign, the former Manchester United striker continues to step up for his country, with at least one goal in five qualifiers.
Poland are the only team to keep him out so far in qualification, but he’s in red-hot overall form, and next summer is likely to be his final World Cup appearance.
Croatia v FAroe Islands
WHEN: Friday 14th of November, 19:45
WHERE: Stadion HNK, Rijeka.
Croatia to win & over 3.5 goals
Zipping across to Group L and Croatia are also on the verge of booking their flight to North America.
With 16 points gained from five qualifiers, they would need to lose both remaining games to drop off top spot, as they welcome the plucky Faroe Islands to Rijeka on Friday night.
The Faroes have been one of the stories of qualifying so far, with 12 points picked up, just behind second place Czechia on 13.
However, this where their adventure could come to an end, with Luka Modric & Co. as ruthless as ever. Croatia have scored three or more goals in four out of six qualifiers, with games away in the Faroes and Prague the only times they have fallen under that mark.
On home soil, they will want to get the World Cup party started, and that could spell the end of the Faroes fairy tale.
Andrej Kramaric to score
Croatia’s veterans continue to roll back the years and 33-year-old striker Andrej Kramaric has six goals in qualification.
The Hoffenheim forward has been consistent in front of goal down the years and he’s another name that could step away after the World Cup in 2026.
He’s started five of Croatia’s six qualifiers, scoring in four – including the clincher in September’s 1-0 win in the Faroes – and he will lead the hosts attack once again.
