Rochelle Humes will be back presenting BBC’s Children in Need this evening, November 14. The TV star and former singer has been a co-host on the telethon for a number of years and helps the charity appeal, which targets children and young people across the UK who continue to face a range of complicated challenges.
The three-hour extravaganza, broadcast live from MediaCity UK in Salford tonight will treat viewers to special Children in Need collaborations with much loved BBC titles including Strictly Come Dancing, Gladiators and The Apprentice.
Rochelle has spoken about why she always agrees to be a part of the show each year, she told BBC: “Honestly, it’s one of the biggest privileges in my job. Every year, the show brings the nation together and you see first-hand the incredible difference the charity makes, and it just fills you with so much purpose.”
Viewers may know Rochelle from presenting other shows including The Hit List, Ninja Warrior and This Morning. She was also a member of girlband, The Saturdays, from 2007 until 2014. Some people may not realise that Rochelle is not the only famous member of her family.
As well as been married to JLS member Marvin Humes, Rochelle’s sister Sophie Piper rose to fame when she appeared on ITV hit dating show Love Island back in 2020. They both share the same dad, Jamaican-born Mark Piper.
However, Rochelle’s dad left her and her paramedic mum Roz Wiseman at the age of three. Mark later welcomed Sophie into the world with another partner, alongside two other siblings, Lili and Jake.

Sophie previously spoke about her relationship with Rochelle, she told MailOnline: “There was a period where we weren’t in contact. It was weird growing up not knowing Rochelle but since we have spoken we speak every day so it is nice all of us being in each other’s lives now.
“My middle sister Lili went to school with Kem so that’s how we know him. Obviously he was at the same school as me. It’s funny how it’s all linked together.” It was a reintroduction by Kem Cetinay, Love Island champion from 2017, that sparked a relationship between the sisters.
Rochelle opened up on Giovanna Fletcher’s Happy mum Happy Baby podcast about the emotional moment she met her three younger siblings for the first time. She said: “I’ve never told anyone this before. Two years ago, I was at our management’s Christmas party and Love Island’s Kem was there.
“He was chatting away and said, ‘I got to talk to you as soon as I became a celeb, I promised my friend Lili that I would talk to you as she’s your sister on your dad’s side. I knew of her and met up with her when I was five, but it was so complicated as they were a lot younger and my dad wasn’t involved’.”
She added: “She WhatsApped me and I didn’t reply till the morning. We planned to go out for dinner with my other sister and brother and I made Marvin come with me because I was so scared.”
Since then the siblings have become inseparable and often post images of each other on social media. Despite her busy schedule, Rochelle continues to share family updates to social media.
She was in attendance at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena yesterday to watch JLS perform as part of their reunion tour and this morning, travelled to Manchester ahead of BBC Children in Need.
